To arrange a bequest from your Will or Trust(s), simply contact your estate-planning attorney to create or amend the necessary legal documents. Below is an example of bequest language that might be used.

Sample Bequest Language for an Unrestricted Gift

“I hereby give to World Vision, Inc., a California nonprofit corporation with its principal offices at World Vision, 34834 Weyerhaeuser Way S., P.O. Box 9716, Federal Way, Washington 98063-9716, (the sum of $____) or (____% of my gross estate prior to any expenses, taxes, deductions or distributions,) [or for a Trust, the gross trust estate prior to any expenses, taxes, deductions or distributions,] to be used for its general purposes.”

Sample Bequest Language to ensure your sponsored child(ren) are taken care of

“I hereby give to World Vision, Inc., a California nonprofit corporation with its principal offices at World Vision, 34834 Weyerhaeuser Way S., P.O. Box 9716, Federal Way, Washington 98063-9716, (the sum of $____) or (____% of my gross estate prior to any expenses, taxes, deductions or distributions,) [or for a Trust, the gross trust estate prior to any expenses, taxes, deductions or distributions,] first to continue my support for the child(ren) I am sponsoring at the time of my death. Support shall continue for as long as the child(ren) is in the World Vision sponsorship program. Upon the condition that I have no child sponsorships at the time of my death or upon the termination of the sponsorship obligation, all remaining funds shall be used for Childcare Ministries to provide support for other children in need. If, in the opinion of World Vision, Inc., the need for funds for the purpose described above no longer exists, World Vision, Inc. is authorized to use these funds in a manner that will most nearly accomplish my wishes.”

Sample Bequest Language for a gift to a specific fund or for a specific use

“I hereby give to World Vision, Inc., a California nonprofit corporation with its principal offices at World Vision, 34834 Weyerhaeuser Way S., P.O. Box 9716, Federal Way, Washington 98063-9716, (the sum of $____) or (____% of my gross estate prior to any expenses, taxes, deductions or distributions,) [or for a Trust, the gross trust estate prior to any expenses, taxes, deductions or distributions] to be used for the following purpose: (state the purpose). If, in the opinion of World Vision, Inc., the need for funds for the purpose described above no longer exists, World Vision, Inc. is authorized to use these funds in a manner that will most nearly accomplish my wishes.”
