"A far greater treasure than any other I could leave . . ." Sharon Prewitt, Mississippi "I have a different philosophy than some," Sharon says with a slight smile. For her, tithing is more than an earthly affair. "If I tithe in my lifetime," she asks, "why not tithe with the money I won't need after I'm gone?" That's why Sharon decided to name World Vision as a beneficiary on her IRA. "If I give to World Vision, I know God's kingdom will be advanced. With World Vision, I can leave the kind of legacy I want to leave. "Jesus talked a lot about helping the helpless. He said that when you give a cup of cold water in his name, it's like giving to him. He came to help the helpless, the down-trodden, the poor. I know we are to do the same." For Sharon, it's not the size of a bank account or investment portfolio that matters. It's the opportunity to share God's love with a world in need. "It may not be a huge amount, but I want all of it to go to World Vision," she says. "That is a far greater treasure than any other I could leave. "World Vision is making the world a better place. They are the type of organization I can trust." ![]() Do your current plans reflect the legacy you want to leave?
