"We want to be remembered for sharing what we were given." Gerry & Lori Hartzel, Pennsylvania "We've found our God-given purpose," say Gerry and Lori, "to help others while we're on earth." The couple have given faithfully to World Vision since 1997, when they learned about child sponsorship while attending a Christian concert. The experience of helping one child proved so rewarding, they decided to repeat it. "Sometime later at another concert, we decided to sponsor another child," Gerry explains. When asked what motivates their legacy of generosity, Gerry and Lori respond with a simple-yet beautiful-explanation: "This is what Jesus taught us-what you do for the 'least of these,' you do for Him." Recently, Gerry and Lori decided to add World Vision to their will. "Whatever our estate is, regardless of how big or small, we've decided to give half to charity. It's one way to take what we have saved and let it be used in a positive way after we're gone-and by a Christian organization that helps so many!" "World Vision will be able to put our money to tremendous use to help people in need-which is exactly what Jesus wants us to do." "We want to be remembered for sharing what we were given. Now we can continue to do just that, even after our death." ![]() Do your current plans reflect the legacy you want to leave?
