"We want to leave a legacy of giving." Connie and Warren McGhee, Illinois Connie's dad always believed in sacrificial giving–even in the most challenging times. It's a lesson Connie hopes to pass on to her grandchildren. "My dad was very giving," Connie remembers. "Back in the Great Depression, he was always watching out for those who had less than we did." This habit of generosity left an indelible mark on Connie and her husband, Warren. More than thirty years ago, they began sponsoring children through World Vision. "We love corresponding," they say. "We feel very connected to them." Every Christmas, Connie and Warren share the joy of giving with their entire family, selecting gifts from the World Vision Gift Catalog and donating one in the name of each grandchild. "We love to do it," Warren says. "It brings us a lot of joy." Connie and Warren want their legacy to continue long into the future. That's why they added World Vision to their trust when they updated their estate plan recently. "Although we are not wealthy people by any means, we'd like to know that after we're gone, we can still contribute to World Vision's ministry," Warren explains. "You feel a sense of satisfaction," Connie adds, "knowing that the people you're helping now will continue to be helped." Now Connie and Warren look forward to watching their legacy bear fruit in the generations that follow. "We want to be an example to our grandchildren, so they will experience the joy of giving, too." ![]() Do your current plans reflect the legacy you want to leave?
