Building a Better World for Children

"We have a far greater impact than we realize."

Beth Leidenheimer, Florida
part of the World Vision family since 1998

Impact. That, in a word, sums up why Beth chose to support World Vision. "I always felt there was more I could do."

Beth first heard about World Vision through an employee giving campaign at work. "I wanted to give to a couple of charities that would have the greatest impact," she explains, "and World Vision was one of them."

Soon Beth was sponsoring a child-a little girl with a visual impairment. Beth has a special appreciation for her sponsored child; Beth's grandmother lost her eyesight by the time she was 35 years old.

"This was so meaningful to me," says Beth. Yet the desire to do more lingered. "I never felt that I was doing enough. As long as there is one person in need, then we are all in need."

The answer came when Beth began preparing her will: she decided to add a bequest to World Vision. Her reason? "I have been blessed through the years and just decided that World Vision is the charity to leave my money to."

Thinking back, she adds, "I have always been driven to do this."

Beth is a self-described idealist. Where others see need, she sees the opportunity to have a lasting impact. And she is convinced that anyone can make a difference.

"Listen to your heart," she says. "What we do in life has a far greater impact than we realize. I think of giving like a wave in the ocean-one leads to another, and another, and another."
